Okay, so *Heretics of Dune* picks up way after *God Emperor Leto II’s* crazy reign. Things are chaotic, right? People have scattered, new factions are popping up, and these powerful women, the Bene Gesserit, are trying to regain control. We meet a new Duncan Idaho ghola (clone!), and he’s got amnesia, which is a bummer. There are these wild sandworms back on Dune, but they’re different. And then there’s this mysterious group, the Honored Matres, who are super intense and violent. Basically, everyone’s fighting for power, and the future of humanity is, like, totally hanging in the balance. It gets pretty wild, and honestly, a little heartbreaking at times.
