Your files stay on your device
Most tools on this site are built with JavaScript that runs in your browser tab. The file you choose is read into memory, processed locally, and handed back to you as a download. It is never sent to us.
- Local processing by default. Each tool page says exactly where processing happens.
- Passwords stay private. PDF passwords are used only inside your browser. We cannot open files whose password you don't know.
- Nothing kept. Temporary editor autosaves live on your device and are cleared when you finish.
- Clearly marked server tools. Office-to-PDF conversion needs a server; files are deleted right after conversion.

Frequently asked questions
Are these tools really free?
Yes. Every tool is completely free for everyone, with no plans, no sign-up, no trial period and no watermark on your files. The site is supported by advertising, which never appears inside the editors.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
Most tools never upload anything: your file is processed by JavaScript inside your own browser and never leaves your device. A small number of document conversions (Word, Excel and PowerPoint to PDF) need a conversion engine that cannot run in a browser; those tools are clearly labelled “Processed on our server”, upload only after you click convert, and delete the file immediately after conversion.
Can I edit the existing text in a PDF?
Yes, where the PDF contains real text. The PDF editor rewrites the text inside the page content itself rather than painting a white box over it. If a PDF uses an embedded font that lacks the characters you type, the editor tells you and offers a matching standard font instead. Scanned PDFs contain pictures of text, so they need OCR first; the editor labels OCR text separately.
Do the tools work on my phone?
Yes. The site is responsive and works in current mobile browsers. Very large files may be slow on phones because all processing happens on the device.
Which browsers are supported?
Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. A few features depend on the browser: for example Safari cannot create WebP images, and HEIC photos decode natively only in Safari (other browsers use a slower built-in decoder).
Is there a file size limit?
Each upload area shows the maximum file size and batch size. These limits are there to keep your browser from running out of memory, because files are processed on your device; they are the same for everyone.
