How to round image corners

  1. Upload your image.
  2. Drag the corner radius slider, or choose the circle option for a fully round result.
  3. Choose an output format: PNG or WebP for transparent corners, or JPG with a fill colour.
  4. Apply and download the rounded image.

Transparent or coloured corners

When you save as PNG or WebP, the cut-away corners are transparent, so the image sits neatly on any background, light or dark. JPG cannot store transparency, so its corners are filled with a solid colour; choose one that matches the page or slide where the image will appear. Websites, slide software and design tools all display transparent PNG corners correctly.

Round image corners to make photos look softer on websites, slides and social cards; a radius of about 10–15% of the width suits most pictures.

Picking a radius

A small radius of around 8–16 pixels gives screenshots and product photos a modern, app-like look. Larger radii suit cards and thumbnails. At the maximum radius, a square image becomes a circle. For a perfect circle, start from a square: crop it to 1:1 with Crop Image, or use the Profile Picture Maker for avatars.

If your image is a screenshot that already has a shadow or frame, crop it cleanly first so the rounding follows the real edge of the content.

Where rounded images help

Rounded images are popular for profile photos, team pages, presentation slides, app store screenshots and email signatures. Combine them with a frame from Add Border to Image for a polished finish. The image is processed in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

Start with a square image and use the circle option or the maximum radius.
