How to rotate a PDF

1. Select your PDF or drop it onto the page. Thumbnails show how each page currently looks.
2. Rotate all pages at once, or hover a page and use its rotate buttons to turn just that page.
3. Check the thumbnails until every page is the right way up.
4. Click the button to apply the rotation and download the PDF.

Why pages end up sideways

Scanners and phone scanning apps often save landscape originals, receipts or ID cards in the wrong orientation, and mixed documents can contain a few landscape tables among portrait pages. Many PDF readers let you rotate the view, but that only lasts until you close the file. Rotating here saves the correct orientation into the PDF itself, so it opens the right way for everyone.

Lossless rotation

Rotation changes the page's orientation setting rather than redrawing its contents. Text stays sharp and searchable, images are not re-compressed, and the file size stays practically the same. You can rotate the same page several times without any loss of quality.

Thumbnails update immediately, so you can see each page's new orientation before saving. Pages that were already rotated in the original file are shown the way readers see them, and your rotation is added on top.

Tips

• Rotate only the pages that need it: a document can freely mix portrait and landscape pages.
• If a page is slightly skewed rather than fully sideways, rotation won't straighten it; rescanning is the best fix.
• To rotate, reorder and delete pages in one go, use Organize PDF. For photos, use Rotate Image.
