How to convert PDF to PNG

  1. Select your PDF or drop it onto the page.
  2. Choose the resolution (DPI) and the pages you want as images.
  3. Click convert to render each page as a PNG.
  4. Download individual images or all of them in a ZIP.

Why choose PNG over JPG

PNG is lossless: every pixel is stored exactly as it was rendered. Text, charts, tables, line drawings and user-interface screenshots come out crisp without the smudgy halos JPG compression can add around sharp edges. PNG is the right choice when you need to paste a page into documentation, a presentation or a design tool and want it to look as clean as the PDF.

The trade-off is size. A page full of photos can be several times larger as PNG than as JPG. For photo-heavy pages or quick sharing, PDF to JPG is more practical.

Choose PDF to PNG for pages with text, charts or line drawings, where PNG's lossless compression keeps edges crisp.

Picking a resolution

At 150 DPI an A4 page becomes roughly 1240 × 1754 pixels, plenty for screens and slides. Choose 300 DPI for printing or when you will crop out small details such as a signature or a diagram. Because PNG files grow with resolution, use the lowest DPI that meets your needs, especially for long documents.

Privacy and related tools

Rendering happens in your browser, so confidential pages never leave your device. To optimise the resulting images further, try Compress PNG, and to turn PNG images back into a document, use PNG to PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Is PNG better quality than JPG?

PNG is lossless, so it keeps text and lines perfectly sharp. JPG is better for photos because its files are much smaller.

Why are my PNG files so large?

Lossless images store every pixel exactly. Lower the DPI, or use PDF to JPG for pages with photos.

Can I convert only one page?

Yes. Enter that page number in the page selection.

Is the conversion done online?

It runs in your web browser, but the PDF is not uploaded anywhere.
